Do You Want To Manage This Website?
(See Below - Scroll Down Near The Bottom)
My apologies for not getting back to all of you who have emailed questions to me. I have been out of the country for the better part of the last several months and simply have not had time to devote to this website.
I'd like to answer several of your questions here today November 12, 2014.
Question 1: What Happened To BRIC And The BRIC Website?
Answer: This is by far the most frequently asked question. In the process of answering this question, I will have answered several other questions that have been submitted.
I am happy to inform you that the BRIC website is alive and well and is being "re-tooled" at this time. If the politicians hated the BRIC website in its previous condition, the new version will really drive them crazy. However, the BRIC website will remain unpublished for the forseeable future. Here's why.
New Political Contribution Laws Have Changed EVERYTHING!
Certain members of my family living in Florida are closely associated with an extremely popular conservative radio talk show as well various conservative organizations. This relationship has opened up an avenue for me which has lead to meeting some extraordinary people. I was invited to meet with them last summer in Sarasota (Florida). It was an absolutely amazing opportunity and unforgettable experience.
They had been shown the BRIC website and they wanted to meet me to discuss, among other things, the wisdom of using the BRIC approach as a political tool. While they found the website extremely entertaining, they also offered some constructive criticism.
The bottom line is that, after engaging in extensive conversations over a period of a few days, I was easy to conclude that my political instincts are utterly naive when put up in comparison to the political skills and political insight of the people with whom I met.
They have funded numerous local, state and federal elections nationwide and have enjoyed enormous success. Many of you would easily recognize some of the names that represent this source of funding.
Recent Supreme Court decisions have changed everything where the funding of political organizations is concerned. The amount of money available for funding a poltical movement is seemingly limitless. No longer with the socialist democrats have the advantage of the big union contributions. The playing field has been leveled.
Question 2: Why does the Berwyn Bankruptcy website state that "Berwyn Bankruptcy Is Not Accepting Contributions At This Time"
Answer: Simply because we will not need your money. We may eventually accept small donations simply to illustrate a broad base of support. But money and contributions are not an issue. The only truly important factor is that we create a viable, credible plan of action that rallies a significant number who want to adopt the plan of action to facilitate change. When it can be shown that such a grassroots base exists, we will have all the money we will ever need.
I was surprised to learn that these ladies and gentlement were very well aware of what was happening in Berwyn back when Mike O'Connor and the IVB were doing their dance. They indicated that, even if the campaign contribution and PAC funding laws were the same then as they are now, they would NOT have been interested in getting involved in that political effort. Why? Because it was personality based and not policy based. Neither O'Connor nor the IVB had a plan of action and, if he did, it was all in O'Connor's head. The election was hate based and had a cultish quality about it with poorly defined goals. It was not the stuff of real change.
In BRIC, on the other hand, they saw "potential".
Now you understand that Berwyn Bankruptcy is not about me or you or anyone else. Berwyn Bankruptcy as a PAC cannot be about a personality. Berwyn Bankruptcy simply represents a plan of action and the plan has to have broad-based grassroots support. Your challenge is to assemble that support.
I (and they) easily visualize some very smart and savvy young men and women who will be able to put together a political movement in a very creative manner and develop a strategy made possible today as a result of the technology and the social media that did not even exist a few short years ago. I'll be happy to share that vision with those of you who are interested.
I welcome someone to take over the management of this website. If you are interested, we can meet and discuss the possibility. I will not have the time necessary to devote to this website on a regular basis. I will, however, retain the rights to it and write the "Innocent Bystander" column, the first column of which (other than this page) has been posted.
If you believe you have a better plan for change than the one being offered by Berwyn Bankruptcy, I invite you to submit it for consideration. It will need to be specific and dynamic in order to obtain the support of those who do the funding. Without funding , the Socialist Democrats will continue to control this city.
If you don't think that money is important to success under our current political form of government, CLICK HERE for a dose of evidence of this reality. By examining this evidence, you will also see how money becomes largely irrelevant in campaigns under the Professional Management form of government advocated by Berwyn Bankruptcy.
I'll continue addressing "short-answer-questions" on this page and devote separate pages to more "weighty" issues, such as my first column which has been posted that addresses the question, "IS THERE A GOD?"
At this time, however, I am out of time. Next time!
Best wishes,
Joel Erickson (The Innocent Bystander)
